Retro ADA Public Service Announcements are a Fun Blast from the Past

It’s great fun to watch public service announcements from past decades.  We get to reminisce about how people dressed and talked in bygone years, and perhaps have a bit of fun mocking their outdated technology.  That’s why the American Dental Association (or ADA) has posted online a collection of their public service announcements from the 1960s through the 1980s at (the videos can also be found by doing a search on YouTube).  TheADA is calling this blast from the past “Throwback Tooth Day,” a direct response to Twitter’s ever-popular Throwback Thursday.

Part of a larger campaign to use social media to promote oral health, the ADA has been advertising Throwback Tooth Day or #TBT on Facebook and Twitter.  Sure, it’s enjoyable to experience the nostalgia of these videos from decades past, but the real purpose is to get people thinking and talking about the importance of maintaining oral health.  It also shows that theADA has a sense of humor, which is a good thing!

No matter what decade they’re from, messages about oral hygiene are always relevant.  At Santa Teresa Dental, we do our absolute best to spread the word about the importance of maintaining good oral health.  This means brushing, flossing, and regular visits to a dentist like Dr. Huang or Dr. Lien who can keep your teeth and gums looking and feeling great.  When it’s time to see the dentist, stop by the Santa Teresa Dental inMorgan Hill or give us a call at (408) 782-6568.  You can also contact us by e-mail at to make an appointment or get more information.  We are always happy to assist you with all of your dental needs.
